An external speaker is essential with the X6100 but when operating portable I try to minimize the number of separate components that need table space. N2HTT’s 3D printed case (Etsy: "X6100 Flip-Cover Carry Frame") would provide a platform for a speaker above the rig but I am using sidebar handles that preclude using that housing.

In my junk box I had a little Daiwa speaker with a magnetic base that was the right size, though I had never liked the sound. After replacing the speaker with a Visaton K64WP-8 weather resistant speaker (Amazon or Parts Express), it sounded much better.

Returning to my junk box, I found a piece of scrap iron that fit into the hole in the sidebar handle and attached it to a piece of plastic that was larger than the hole. When I want to attach the speaker, I simply put this in place from inside the handle and snap the speaker onto it on the outside.

I don’t think the Daiwa speaker is available anymore but it should be easy to find a small speaker and glue a magnetic base to it.
The speaker can be used on either end of the rig, allowing it to be configured for the situation.
